CMA SUMMIT 2011 Report
The CMA Summit 2011 was held on the 5th July 2011, in The
Bengal Chamber of Commerce Building. Being an integral member
of the Calcutta Management Association, Bangalore School of
Business, Kolkata Campus was cordially invited to attend the
session of the summit on “ INDIA’S EMERGENCE AS
AN ECONOMIC SUPERPOWER” and three students from the
college were selected as volunteers for the summit i.e.Sumanjyoti
Rout, Hiranya Nath, T.Meenakshi all of 2nd Semester students
of the college.
The chief guest speaker for the Summit was Mr. A P J Abdul
Kalam , the former President of India and now a Paryavaran
Ambassador of India along with Mr. M K Narayanan the honorable
Governor of West Bengal sharing the stage along with him.
Mr. A P J Abdul Kalam took the topic to a new height with
great inspiring thoughts of how a leader withstands in today’s
world and how he/she can uplift the nation to a new peak.
After which M K Narayanan added more to it by adding new key
points as where India has conquered new peaks and where it
still lacks so that it can help the nation to emerge as a
new superpower.
Many prominent corporate people were a part of the summit
like Mr Rajarshi Sengupta, Executive Director, Deloitte &
Touche Consulting India, Mr Sudhir Deoras, Managing Director,
TRF Ltd., Mr Joydeep Datta Gupta, Chief Operating Officer,
Deloitte & Touche Consulting India, Dr Siddhartha Roy,
Economic Advisor, Tata Group which proved to be a key exposer
Other prominent speakers included Mr Arun Maira, Member, Planning
Commission, Dr Anup K Sinha, Professor, Indian Institute of
Management, Calcutta, Dr Abhirup Sarkar, Professor, Indian
Statistical Institute, Calcutta, Mr Suman K Bery, Member,
Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, Mr P K Jena,
Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata, Mr
S L Bansal, Executive Director, United Bank of India. These
speakers added more value to what Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam had
said and all these speeches and lectures added more value
to our knowledge and also provided an extra input in order
to move forward in life. This summit proved to be a great
remarkable event.
