Dr. S. Neelamegham
President NIILM CMS

Known for his pioneering work in developing Indian cases on Management, he is currently a distinguished Professor of Marketing and President of NIILM Centre for Management Studies. He is also the Honorary Chairman of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Oriented Programmes at the University of Delhi. He has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies of the University of Delhi and Co-Founder of the Academy of Indian Marketing. He has vast and varied teaching, research and consulting experience in several countries including USA, Australia, Europe, South Africa and Middle East. He was the Chairman of the committee which prepared the blueprint for setting up of the fifth IIM at Indore.

Dr Satinder Bhatia
Honourable Chairperson, IIFT,Delhi

She handles Programs like Managerial Accounting and International Financial Management including Forex Management. Her Interest and specialization Managerial Accounting Project Appraisal & Finance, Financial Management, International Financial Management

To add to her credit she has publications like `Cost of Capital and Corporate Policy (with special reference to the influence of accounting information on prices), and the book `Policy Impediments to Trade and FDI in India' (co-authored with Prof. B. Bhattacharyya),

She was awarded the Certificate in Trade Finance by United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) after regular assessment and evaluation.


Suresh Chand Sharma
Ex Indian Economics Service Officer

Presently he is Managing Editor of an international journal "8M". He has contributed his services as Managing Editor HUDCO's quarterly journal Sheler frm July 1989 to august 1991.He had served as executive director HUDCO where he headed various departments like project finance, retail finance economic planning and policy etc.
He has also been Economic Advisor, Steel Authority of India.

Prof. A.K. Sengupta
Ex Dean IIFT Delhi

Prof. A.K. Sengupta is MA in Economics and PhD (International Trade) He is former Dean, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, and has 46 years experience in Training, Research and Consultancy in the field of International Business. He started his career as a faculty member in North Bengal University. Later, he spent 33 years in IIFT and 7 years as Director, Jagannath International Management School. At present, he is Chair Professor at JIMS.

Confluence-2011: Can India be the next superpower?

Confluence 2011 was organized by Bangalore School of Business on the 9th April, 2011 at the BSB Antardhwani Auditorium. This illuminating event had the participants captivated by the immense knowledge of the speakers who spoke about various aspects of India becoming a superpower. The journey of knowledge dissemination was embarked upon by the recital of the Saraswati Vandana, & the lighting of the lamp by the Guest of Honour, Dr. S. Neelamegham. Addressing the congregation the Dean-Academics stressed upon the facets that India can look upon to reach even higher. He further illustrated how India can achieve even further success & can be a force to reckon with. Dr. S. Neelamegham shared his international experience. He further released the journal- Wisdom Voyage. Dr. Satinder Bhatia spoke about the working of the stock exchanges in India & abroad sharing her vast experience about the various instruments available in today's market , especially on the derivatives instrument. She also stressed on the "Financial Literacy Programme" of the government & the possibility of public-private partnership. Ms Shilpi Kapoor spoke of India as a brand and how this perception is changing globally. She reiterated the fact that Indian culture, goods & experiences were now being taken seriously by the West. Mr Kunal Choudhary spoke about the commodity market & enlightened the participants about various possibilities of e-trading including gold. Dr Alok Mukherjee illustrated the environment impact on the flora & fauna of the rich natural resources of India & the steps various agencies could take to stem this flow towards disaster. Dr S.C Sharma, an ex-Indian Economic Service Officer spoke about the threats to India being as superpower such as illetracy, corruption & the like. Dr A.K Sengupta briefed the esteemed audience of the international trade & its relevance in making India a superpower. Ms Ruchi Bhatia spoke about the financial market, & how it can be more robust. The audience consisted of academicians, industrialists, entrepreneurs, students & intrapreneurs who found the sessions interesting, noteworthy, & the feedback received was extremely positive from all quarters. The event concluded with everyone rising to the national anthem & finally closed amidst an appreciative applause.
