Management Game:CHANAKYA conducted by AIMA
All India Management Association (AIMA)
in collaboration with Rai Business School conducted
National competition- Management Game: Chanakya
in New Delhi on 9th and 10th September 08.Teams
from 28 B-Schools from all over India participated
in the event.
Each team consisted of 4 members. From BSB Delhi
Semester I students Harpriya Sethi, Manoj Babu,
Shobhika Shukla and Nidhi Chauhan participated.
The students played the part of Directors representing
Production Marketing and Finance functions. In
order to familiarize participants with the game,
a copy of participant’s manual was provided
before the game was played. Chanakya demanded
a team-based approach to encourage consensual
decision making amongst the participants. Each
team represented an enterprise and had four managers,
each with different functional responsibility.
The team elected a CEO to communicate decisions.
Each game scenario ran across a 5 quarter period,
each period corresponding to a calendar of 3 months.
4 rounds were held in 2 days.Each round incorporated
situations covering problems in raw material sourcing,
capacity planning, warehousing, manufacturing,
distribution, marketing, and finance. Participants
were induced to take decisions under predetermined
rules of behavior. The objective of playing the
game was to understand complex business situations
and solve problems.
BSB Delhi team secured 9th position in the event.
