The BSB students teamed up with MIT US students for
the Project "PRAKASH". Project "PRAKASH"
is concerned with "Child Disabilities in India".
The project deals with four aspects of child disabilities.
- Number of Children with disabilities
- Education of Disabled children
- Medical facilities provided to them in the country.
- Effects on society (psychological)
-
BSB students made immense contribution to the project.
They along with the MIT US students visited various
NGOs and schools for the disabled to collect data
that would be used for the further movement of the
project.
Before the students left for USA, a special cultural
program was put up by the BSB students. This was
an excellent and creative show where India's multicultural
heritage was depicted, through its various dance
forms, presentations on festivals, historical monuments
of India. From the tall mountains of Kashmir to
the cool waters of the Ganges in Bengal, the dances
exuded a wealth of talent of the BSB students. The
MIT students joined in with gusto on the lilting
tunes from Himachal Pradesh, to the foot thumping
Bhangra of Punjab. All in all the MIT students were
exposed to the Indian dance forms, festivals, monuments
of India. The energetic, imaginative & creative
show had the entire audience spell bound.
