Bangalore School of Business, Bangalore Campus had organized a Workshop on FINANCIAL EDUCATION which was sponsored by SEBI. Prof. T.S. Vidyasagar was the resource person for the workshop.
The objective of this workshop was to spread the Financial Education and promote savings and investments amongst the citizens of India and particularly to initiate this process at a very early stage of the earning process. It is a Government of India Initiative implemented by SEBI through National Institute of Securities Markets.

The program was aimed to make our students aware on how invest their money in right way in Share Market. Prof. Vidyasagar told that currently, only 1% of population in India is investing in the Shares. He also advised that investing money in Shares is a more profit making strategy in comparison to investing in Real Estates and Gold or any other areas.

He also gave inputs on how Investment in Stock Market will also help in increasing the Economic Standard of Indian people as well as the Cash Flow in the economy.

People of India take Stock Market as a high risk factor and to be on the safer side, they prefer to invest their hard earned money into FD’s, Gold, Property, Business. But investment in stock market would fetch a better return to make the money grow in long run and helps in long term planning and also will assist in improving the Economy of India, he advised that people need to invest their money into Share Market also and make a habit of taking risk as the return on Shares is very high in comparison to other sources of Investment, Investors need to overcome from the fear of losing money in Share Market.

It was a very informative workshop to the students of Bangalore School of Business, particularly for students who are pursuing Finance specialization.
