Conference on –Business Partner Role of HR –A Strategic Shift

Smriti Soni, Faculty HR attended the National HRD Network, Delhi Chapter HR Conference on Business Partner Role of HR in organizations. The Session was confined to the transformation in HR.

The eminent personalities present as panelists were from the industry .Mr Krish Shankar Director HR, Bharti Airtel emphasized that HR Head should focus more on the  business vision of CEO apart from carrying out the routine HR Activities   For an HR professional, being a strategist means shedding the once traditional image of managing only the "soft side" of business operations. The HR leaders who have become total business partners have followed three critical strategies delivering the numbers, maximizing people performance and understanding and applying the latest business trends.Mr Bimal Rath ,Head HR Nokia India said that HR is now  a part of the Brand Building exercise and facilitator in crisis management of the organization apart from the basic role .Further Mr,Praveen K .Sinha,Chief General Manager Escorts added that HR should be proactive and responsive as per the expectations of the CEO.Carrot  and Stick Approach is the best to motivate the human resource and HR people are becoming more business centric rather than employee centric. The Session ended up with rapid fire questions from the audience to the panelists and they gave the balanced and best answers.
